A Small Photo Guide to Alaçatı Turkey
Sorry for the radio silence lately... For those of you who follow along on Instagram you know I have been down with the flu ever since I came back from Stockholm! Think the Lack of sleep just hit me right on my immune system. Anywho, I have been spending my time in bed partly cathcing up on House of Cards and partly Editing some of the hundreds of photos Mark and I took in Turkey. We really didn't do nearly as much exploring as we usually do. Time with family was more important but we did manage to get a really good vibe from the village, Alaçatı, and the surrounding area. So, withouth writing too much I will let the photo's do the talking...
Approximately an hour from Alaçatı and a bit outside of Izmir is a very nice wine district. The wine is divine and the prices are ridiculously cheap. We went to the winery called Urla which according to locals should be one of the best ones.
There are many hot restaurants and bars in Alaçatı, however, the one that stole my heart was Asma Yapragi. It is run by a local woman that every day cooks the most amazing veggie dishes along with 1-2 selections of meat. You go to the kitchen and choose for yourself which dishes you want to have served to your table. I are for 4 that night we went there - the food was that good! However, if you want to be guaranteed a table book a table far in advance. Especially if you come during high season.
